Makes me regret how far the series and Bioware as a whole has fallen since then.

I realized how much I loved it while typing this shit up just now. Dialogue choices, rpg elements to a tps, that fucking story. I remember borrowing it from a friend and just being fucking floored. It was being made by Bioware, who made fucking KOTOR. I remember being so fucking hyped with everything surrounding it. I mean I was relatively young when it first came out so nostalgia has a lot to do with it, but I remember it being the first 'next gen' game that really fucking wowed me. Thinking about it, Mass Effect was probably my favorite game last gen. It also has the edgiest antagonist I've seen since Donte, and now I'm not even sure whether ME3 came before DmC or not. The game also has no final boss, unless you count Our Lord and Savior, Marauder Shields, who wanted to stop us from seeing the ending. They destroy The Illusive Man's character by making him into an imbecile puppet who gets convinced by kindergarten-tier argumentation instead of a shrewd businessman and human leader. The ethical questions between Quarians and the Geth are completely blown out of proportion and even if you managed to get Tali to work together with Legion on your ship, you're still forced to side with one of them instead of actually solving the conflict. It was just a gay quota they needed to fulfill.

It didn't feel like a logical progression of his character and he never alluded to it in earlier games. For example, they make Kaidan gay for absolutely no reason.
